Brian W Jones – Barista AKA Brand Ambassador

All Barista Camp 'coffeetalks' - by speakers such as Rachael Power, Shaun Barber and Mette-Marie Hansen - were recorded by our media partner European Coffee Trip. We'll be releasing the videos of these talks over the next months so we keep fuelling discussion and building an inventory of knowledge. Don't hesitate to add your comments here, or on our Youtube channel.

In recent years Brian W Jones has become synonymous with cool coffee brands and created a role for himself as a brand expert within the specialty coffee industry. With a broad range of perspectives from a consumer to a barista to a consultant, in his talk, Brian confesses his early experiences that lead him to form Dear Coffee I Love You.

Key to this talk is the emphasis on the role of the barista and how that role far surpasses 'just making coffee'. One for those baristas who are looking outside of the barista skills box!

Brian W. Jones is the founder and editor of the website Dear Coffee, I Love You and author of the forthcoming book Brew: Better Coffee at Home. He is a designer, writer and brand expert—turned coffee professional—who splits his time between Sweden and the rest of the world. Brian was a co-founder of the late Coffee Common, which organized engaging and enlightening coffee events in London, NYC and at the TED conferences. For the past five years, Brian has organized the Swedish AeroPress Championship and he has competed in the Swedish Brewers Cup twice (placing 4th and 5th, respectively). Since 2014, he has been the creative director at Supersonic Coffee, a roastery he co-founded in Berkeley, California. When he’s not working, Brian enjoys a long train ride with a good book and copious amounts of natural wine.
