Election Results Are In

May 17, 2010 | The Barista Guild of America (BGA) has just announced the election results, naming the newest members of the BGA leadership team. The Executive Council positions will be filled by Chris Baca (Verve Coffee Roasters),Daniel Streetman (Independent) and Trevor Corlett (MadCap Coffee). The outgoing members of the Executive Council are Heather Perry (Klatch Roasting), Robin Seitz (PT’s Coffee Roasting Co.) and Phuong Tran (Lava Java), who have all devoted countless hours to Barista Guild activities. We thank these dedicated volunteers for all their time and unwavering commitment to the success of the BGA.

In addition to three new members of the Executive Council, the BGA welcomes five new Regional Chapter Representatives:
Joshua Boyt (Dillanos Coffee) for the Northwest region, Robin Crosby (Coal Creek Coffee) for the Mountain region, Julie Housh (Peregrine Espresso) for the Mid-Atlantic region, Sean Kohmesche (Temple Coffee and Tea) for the Western region, Lorenzo Perkins (Caffe Medici) for the South Central region, and Daniel Thompson(Jittery Joe’s) for the South East region. Outgoing Regional Chapter Representatives (for each region respectively) are: Cameron Kellet (Lava Java), Mike Strumpf (Allegro Coffee), Troy Reynard (Cosmic Cup), Sean Kohmesche (elected to a second term), the newly elected Executive Council member Dan Streetman, and Brady Butler (Coffee Garden). We thank these individuals for their commitment to the Barista Guild of America.

The Barista Guild of America is looking forward to another year of progress, development and growth for the guild. This new leadership team will join the existing members to work towards the goals of the BGA, such as encouraging membership, enhancing member benefits and educational opportunities, improving the BGA certification program, and ensuring the successful launch of the first annual Barista Camp this fall.
